Basel: Hieronymus Froben and Nicolaus Bischof, September 1558. 2° (290 x 195mm). Woodcut printer's device on title and verso of last leaf, full-page woodcut illustration. (Minor paperflaw on M4, marginal wormhole in first few leaves). Modern brown morocco. Provenance : early marginal annotations in ink. The first work on physical geology and systematic mineralogy. Second edition with Agricola's additions and revisions. Cf. Grolier/Horblit 2a; Ferguson I p.9; Stillwell, Awakening 565.
