Leather album, 10 x 12.75 in., containing 17 silver gelatin photographs, most boudoir card sized, approx. 4.5 x 7.25 in., as well as four large format photos measuring approx. 7.5 x 9.5 in. or smaller, on slightly larger mounts. Most photographs are credited in the negative or on the mount to Frank LaRoche, Seattle, WA, with one view bearing the imprint of R. Albertstone, Sitka, Alaska. Several are titled in the negative. The album features bird's-eye views as well as street scenes of Sitka and Metlakatla, Alaska; Totem Poles at Fort Wrangle (2); the Greek Church at Killisnoo; studies of glaciers, including a section of Muir Glacier (2), as well as a distant view of men standing amongst massive glacial formations; an Alaskan camp scene; and views of ships on the water. Photographs of Chileat Indians at Killisnoo, Metlakatla Cornet Band members posed with their instruments, and "An Alaska Indian Woman 126 Years Old" are also included in this fine turn of the 20th century Alaskan photo album. Condition: Images can be removed from album sleeves, with exception of a few that are tough to extract. Some show light spotting. Some with toning to mounts. Few images have lightened a bit.
