ALBINUS, Bernhard Siegfried (1697-1770). Historia musculorum hominis. Leiden: Theodor Haak and Hendrik Mulhovius, 1734. 4 o (245 x 181 mm). 8 folding engraved plates by Jan Wandelaar including 4 outline plates. (Title a bit soiled and with marginal patch, some browning and spotting.) Modern quarter calf (a bit rubbed). Provenance : B.T. Graff (signature on title). FIRST EDITION. The plates in this work illustrate the muscles of the hand and are the first in which Wandelaar "applied the 'architectonic' procedure of 'projective' transposition of the objects to paper with the aid of a pair of compasses and a ruler" (Punt, p.7).
