viii, [2], 400 pp. 23.5x15.5 cm (9¼x6¼"), original red cloth, lettered in gilt, recased with new endpapers. First Edition, first printing. Inscribed on inserted leaf, likely the original front endpaper: "Dear Bob - With this, my deepest gratitude for your great example of AA's wa of life - Ever, Bill. May 3/67" The AA "Big Book" in the original red cloth: one of the most influential and important books of the twentieth century, changing millions of lives through it's revered methods of self-treatment and helping alcoholics survive their confrontation with the "demon rum". With "Copyright, April 1939" on the copyright page. Only approximately 4,650 copies were printed of this highly desirable first published appearance. In facsimile dust jacket of original printing as well as a second jacket from the 1992 reprint.
