The AA “Big Book” in the original red cloth; one of the most influential and important books of the twentieth century, changing millions of lives through it’s revered methods of self-treatment and helping alcoholics survive their confrontation with the "demon rum." With "Copyright, April, 1939" on the copyright page. Approximately, only 4,650 copies were printed of this highly desirable first published appearance. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine a bit bowed, mild rubbing, a few light stains including one from a cup on front cover, cream coloring spots on cloth fore-edges; front hinge carefully glue repaired, early bookseller's printed label on front pastedown, occasional faint foxing, 1" white-out box on upper title page; else very good; facsimile jacket from a perfect example.
