Beschreibung:

Color photograph, 20 x 16 inches, taken by Neil Armstrong with his Hasselblad camera looking back up at Eagle and showing Aldrin climbing backwards through the hatch. SIGNED by CHARLES DUKE as "Apollo 11 CAPCOM, White Team, July 1969," and INSCRIBED "Hello Tranquility Base, Houston. Was your eight o'clock Houston time for reference to opening the hatch or starting the prep for EVA at that time? Over." A couple of hours after landing on the moon, and while still inside the Lunar Module, Armstrong and Aldrin agreed to bring forward the time for the EVA that would see man stepping on the moon for the first time. They targeted 8pm Houston time, but as "Capsule Communicator" (CAPCOM), Charles Duke had to confirm with them whether that was EVA preparation time or hatch-open time; 2 hours were allocated to EVA prep, so this was a crucial detail. To clarify, Armstrong replied, "That would be hatch opening."
