As publisher of various design Magazines including Casabella (1970-76), Mod and Domus (1979-85), the Italian designer was for many years considered the theoretician of Italian avant-garde design and an important trend setter. His work is exemplary of the cross over between art, architecture and design. Mendini started a collaboration with Venini & Co, one of the leading figures in the production of Murano glass and important contributors to twentieth century design, in 1987.
