Alfred Crowquill 32 ink drawings for Aunt Mavor's Nursery Tales for Good Little People each c.135 x 115mm. (average), ink drawings, unsigned, on 16 sheets, each group of 8 in separate folder with title added in pencil, occasional light soiling, pin holes not affecting images Aunt Mavor's Nursery Tales for Good Little People was published in 1856 by George Routledge and contained 13 tales. The ink drawings in this group comprise the complete drawings for "Puss in Boots", "The Dog's Dinner Party", "Tom Thumb" and "Grasshopper's Feast". The printed version was issued in octavo format, each tale comprising 8pp with wood-engraved image above text. The images were subsequently coloured by hand. Crowquill's original ink drawings throw up minor differences to the subsequent wood-engraved versions, notably expressive and detailed styling which was often lost in conversion onto the wood-block.
