Sporting Discoveries or The Miseries of Hunting in A Series of Seven Plates, Being Hints to Young Sportsmen by Ben Tally-Ho. London: S. And J. Fuller, 1816 [watermarked 1815]. Oblong folio (14 7/8 x 10 7/8 in.; 375 x 277 mm). 7 hand-colored etched plates; one or two closed margin tears, minor soiling to margins. Original gray-brown wrappers bound in, with letterpress title on upper wrapper, later half red morocco over marbled boards, spine gilt-lettered, marbled endpapers; wrappers a bit wrinkled with some minor soiling, rubbing to extremities of binding. Title remnant of original front wrapper mounted and bound in at rear, later full red levant morocco, bound by Riviere and Son, covers decoratively bordered in gilt, all edges gilt, spine with raised bands in six compartments, second and third gilt-lettered, others with repeat overall decoration in gilt, all edges gilt, elaborate inner dentelles gilt, coated blue-green endpapers.
