unmarked, second quarter 19th century; likely the work of Thomas & Sherman Boardman or Boardman & Hart, Hartford, Connecticut. Probably made from an inverted casting for a beaker body, having a hinged low domed lid and with incised decorative bands; 5" overall height x 3" diameter (at base). See Thomas, 1976: 119-124, 180 and fig 139 for information. Provenance: Ex: Dorothy & David Mallory Condition: Polished with minor wear.
