The first, a watercolor on ivory portrait of a man wearing a black coat, vest, and cravat, c. 1835, (some paint smudges l.c.), 2 1/8 x 1 3/4 in., housed in an oval brass case with engine-turned backing with an empty small oval aperture; the second, a watercolor on paper profile portrait of a gentleman with muttonchop sideburns, (paint losses on hair and jacket), 2 7/8 x 2 3/8 in., housed in a mahogany frame with oval gilt-brass liner.
