Americas.- Tarleton (Sir Banastre) A History of the Campaigns of 1780 and 1781, in the Southern Provinces of North America, first edition, folding engraved map with routes of Cornwallis's marches supplied in red, yellow and blue, 4 folding engraved plans with partial hand-colouring (York Town a little creased), advertisement leaf at end, map and facing page lightly browned and spotted, a few leaves soiled at edges, original boards, uncut and partly unopened, rubbed, rebacked in roan, one corner repaired, [Sabin 94397], 4to, for T.Cadell, 1787. ⁂ Account of the southern campaigns in the American Revolutionary War, by a brutal British cavalry officer later renowned for his support of slavery. The engraved plans are of the sieges of Charlestown and Yorktown and the battles of Camden and Guildford.
