An altar frontal of red and ivory silk woven with floral and leafy lattice design, divided in sections by gold braid-- 80 x 36in., 18th century and a frontal of ivory silk with appliqué of coloured silks in a strapwork pattern with scallops and flower vases, and a central medallion embroidered and painted depicting the Ascension of the Virgin Mary, the ground with self-coloured tambour stitch all over- 84 x 37in., early 20th century See Colour Plate 32
