AN ANGLO-INDIAN IVORY-INLAID INDIAN ROSEWOOD LINEN-PRESS CIRCA 1760, VIZAGAPATAM Inlaid overall with rich borders of exotic flowerheads and scrolling foliage, the moulded dentilled cornice with stylised floral borders above a pair of panelled doors inlaid with bamboo, enclosing five linen slides, the sides inlaid with palm trees, above two long and two short drawers with silver-plated handles, on bracket feet, with small screw holes to the top of the cornice indicating that this press may have been conceived with a broken pediment although there is no discolouration to suggest that this was ever executed 87 in. (221 cm.) high; 55 in. (139.5 cm.) wide; 24¼ in. (61.5 cm.) deep
