AN ANTHOLOGY OF POEMS WRITTEN BY DARVISH 'ABD AL-MAJID TALIQANI, SAFAVID ISFAHAN, IRAN, DATED AH 1180/1766-7 AD AND RABI' I AH 1081/AUGUST 1670 AD Poetry, Persian manuscript on ivory paper, 230ff. plus 2 flyleaves, with 17ll. of elegant black shikasteh arranged in two columns with gold and black ruled intercolumnar divisions, the names of authors in red and pale-blue marginal panels around the text, text boxes with gold margins with black and blue rule, each page with gold and black ruled outer border, 4 gold and polychrome finely illuminated bifoliom, two colophons, one at the end of the qasa'id wa muqatta'at dated 1180, the other at the end saying that it was commissioned by Mirza 'Abd al-Wahhab, and was copied in Isfahan in Rabi' I 1081, Qajar gold and polychrome lacquer binding, with central medallion and cornerpieces decorated with fine golf floral motifs on black ground, in fitted box, excellent condition Folio 8¾ x 5 3/8in. (22.2 x 13.6cm.); Text 6¼ x 3½in. (15.9 x 8.9cm.)
