AN ANTIQUE FACHRALO KAZAK RUG, SOUTH CAUCASUS approx: 6ft.7in. x 5ft.5in.(201cm. x 165cm.) The brick-red field with two hooked and stepped medallions flanked by hooked panels and various hooked motifs and star rosettes. In blue border of stylised open rosette and serrated leaf vine between arrow-head, barber-pole and plain stripes. Areas of slight wear and slightly corroded charcoal-brown, scattered old repiling, well done. Very good colour combination and well drawn design, Rather large size for this type. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Selvages and ends secured. Very attractive and elegant example for this type.
