AN ARCHAIC BRONZE VESSEL (HU) LATE EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, WARRING STATES PERIOD of pear-shaped form, cast with four registers of interlocking long-snouted confronting dragons divided by narrower, slightly recessed plain bands, flanked on the neck by two toatie masks with closed ring handles attached to a chain link handle consisting of a central double headed dragon grip and twelve double loop links, the surface a grayish-green patina with some areas of encrustation height 12 in., 30.5 cm
