AN ARITA EWER, DOUBLE-GOURD BOTTLE VASE AND A KAKIEMON-STYLE DISH Edo Period (Late 17th/Early 18th Century) The ewer decorated in underglaze blue with scrolling karakusa and foliage, each side with the letter "O" (for oil) within a roundel, the handle similarly decorated, minute rim chip to spout; a double-gourd bottle vase decorated in underglaze blue with a karako in a mountainous landscape, the slightly flared rim with a band of reversed lappets, some restoration; and a foliate rimmed dish decorated in underglaze blue with a figure leading a bull by a rope, standing next to two others by fences and rockwork, the reverse with a band of blossoming karakusa , fuku mark, rim chip 4.1/8in. (10.5cm.), 6in. (15.3cm.) high and 5¾in. (14.5cm.) diam. respectively (3)
