An Art Deco Platinum, White Gold, Jade and Diamond Convertible Necklace, consisting of a detachable central pendant/brooch composed of two pierced and carved mottled white and green oval jade plaques measuring approximately 36.00 x 27.00 mm and 37.00 x 23.00 mm, the lower plaque set within a partial platinum surround and both plaques studded with numerous bezel settings, pendant/brooch has detachable white gold brooch fittings and is suspended from a detachable back chain composed of two pierced and carved mottled white and green oval jade plaques measuring approximately 22.00 x 12.25 mm within partial platinum surrounds and studded with numerous bezel settings extending to the white gold serpentine chain, necklace contains four old mine cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.50 carats total and numerous old European and round single cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.25 carats total. 25.90 dwts. Estimate $ 5,000-7,000 It is the opinion of the gemologist, given the intricate platinum work, the style of the construction, and the cutting style of the old mine and old European cut diamonds, that the four jade sections were produced in the Art Deco period. The white gold fittings and back chain are of later, more contemporary addition. It is the opinion of the gemologist that the carved jade section in this item has internal characteristics consisted with those observed in natural jadeite jade that has not been colored enhanced with dye.
