An Austrian walnut and gilt-brass mounted grande sonnerie bracket clock with calendar, early 19th century The case with stepped top and ribbon cresting, with gilt-brass frames to the glazed side panels and conforming frames to the front and rear doors, on spreading rectangular base, the dial mask with displayed eagle mounts to the arch, the gilt-brass dial with wreath spandrels to the white enamel Arabic dial with inner concentric chapter ring, with engraved gilt-brass hands and steel alarm-setting hand, with enamel discs to the arch for repeat/not repeat and and strike/not strike, flanking a painted enamel roundel portraying a mounted cossack attacking a swordsman, with mock pendulum aperture below, the three train movement with chain fusee for the going and barrels for the hour and quarter trains, with verge escapement and strike/repeat on two gongs; possibly associated -- 17½in. (44.5cm.) high
