An early 18th century Dutch East India Company padouk and ebony chest of large proportions, the lifting top with brass strap hinges and lock secured by stud-headed bolts, the sides with heavy brass carrying handles, 168cm (5'6in) x 70cm (2'31/2in) the back stamped VOC, 1724.
