The staff in the form of a papyrus column, flaring at the top, is surmounted by a figure of the goddess Serket in the form of a scorpion with the head and breasts of a woman, wearing a tripartite wig and a crown, 11cm high, (15.7cm high inc. base) Published: Charles Ede, Small Sculpture from Ancient Egypt XX, no.17 Provenance: With Gudea Gallery 1992; with Charles Ede; Private collection of a lady, Rome.
