AN EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE FUNERARY STATUE FOR PASUNU NEW KINGDOM TO THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD, DYNASTY XIX-XXII, 1307-712 B.C. Depicted lying on a rectangular bier with his hands on his thighs in an attitude of prayer, the bier raised up on two supports set back from each end, wearing a pleated kilt, a tunic with flaring sleeves, and a striated tripartite wig with banded lappets, his oval face with large lidded eyes beneath long brows in relief, his lips pursed into a smile, a hieroglyphic inscription down the front of the kilt, reading: "The Osiris, Pasunu, Justified," preserving traces of pigment including yellow for the garments, red for the fleshtones and black for the wig 8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) long
