AN ELABORATE CORAL AND HARDSTONE TREE GROUP IN A CANTON ENAMEL JARDINIERE QING DYNASTY, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY The rectangular Canton enamel jardiniere painted on each side with a shaped cartouche enclosing a landscape scene, surrounded by leafy scrolls bearing gourds and flowers against a bright pink ground, 'planted' with a prunus tree rising from rockwork, its gnarled branches formed by white and pink coral, the flowers carved from jadeite, white jade and pink coral, with birds and butterflies carved from a variety of hardstones perched on the tree (several losses replaced) 17 in. (43.2 cm.) high
