An Elizabeth II two-colour gold commemorative Churchill decanter set Mark of Mappin & Webb, London, 1974, 18 carat Comprising decanter, six goblets and salver, the decanter inverted vase-shaped on rim foot with reeded and moulded borders, applied with a cast coat-of-arms, the detachable flared circular stopper with a cast finial crest of a sitting lion, each goblet slightly flaring bell-shaped on circular foot, with baluster stem, applied with a crest, the hexafoil tray on three reeded bracket feet, the field applied with a cast coat-of-arms, engraved 'WINSTON CHURCHILL 1874-1974' , the decanter engraved '1874-1974' , each goblet engraved 'WINSTON CHURCHILL CENTENARY 1874-1974' on the foot, marked on salver, decanter, stopper and goblets, each also engraved 'Set No. 1' and stamped 'MAPPIN & WEBB' The decanter, 11in. (27.5cm.) high 156oz. (4,860gr.) The arms are those of Spencer Churchill (8)
