An English brass, white-metal and tole-peinte travelling lantern BARRET & CO, 19TH CENTURY The detachable lantern with convex glass panel to the front and polished brass reflecting surface inside, flanked by pierced hinged doors and blinders to the front, mounted with a silvered plaque engraved Barret & Co 10 Halkin Street West Belgrave Square , mounted on a detachble ring-turned hollow shaft taking a brass cylinder for the candle, mounted on an adjustable table clamp, with its original gilt-tooled black leather case, inscribed to the top with the name of the owner JOHN FOWLER ESQ.r QUEEN'S SQUARE PLACE WESTMINSTER , enclosing a green baize lined fitted interior with two extra candlesticks, and a match box, the leather handle broken 60 cm. high overall (the lantern) the case 17.5 cm. high x 29 cm. wide x 21 cm. deep
