An English George V mahogany and box inlaid mantel clock, arched top, the 12cm round silvered dial with brass bezel and bevelled convex glass, Roman chapter, signed Ollivant and Bottsford/ Manchester, eight day movement striking on a gong, inlaid panel below dial cavetto moulding to plinth brass ball feet 29.5cm high, c.1910/20 Ollivant and Bottsdford of 12-14 St. Ann's Street, Manchester was founded in the 18th century in Manchester by John Ollivant (died 1795) and the firm was continued thereafter by his son and by a succession of partners into the 20th century.
