An English gilt brass mounted mahogany quarter chiming and musical table clock, John Taylor London, circa 1780 18.5-cm annular silvered engraved dial with Roman numerals and inner date ring, pierced blued hands and brass date pointer, arched dial with subsidiaries for chime/not chime and dance/march, silvered signature plate John Taylor London, three train fusee verge movement with foliate engraved backplate, trip repeating quarter chiming on eight bells and playing one of two tunes every hour, rack hour striking, moulded mahogany case with brass lined inverted bell top surmounted by five finials, carrying handles above pierced brass side frets, stop fluted quarter columns flanking the glazed brass bound break arch door, gilt brass bound moulded plinth raised on scroll feet Height 64cm
