An English mahogany and gilt-brass mounted longcase clock The breakarch hood with ball and eagle finials, glazed side panels and outset brass stop-fluted columns, the trunk with breakarch door flanked by brass stop-fluted three-quarter columns with Composite capitals, above stepped plinth with quatreform panel, the 11¾in. square brass dial with ring and cup decoration to its edge and to the inside of the chapter and seconds rings, cherub and coronet spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with sword hilt half hour and lozenge half quarter hour markers, signed Jam Jordan Chatham , matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes and with engraving around the circular date aperture, minute hand lacking, the later applied arch with a silvered disc signed Jam Jordan/Chatham fecit , the four (formerly five) ringed pillar movement with anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell; case circa 1775 with regilt mounts and associated to (adapted) dial and movement circa 1710 -- 86in.
