AN EXCEPTIONALLY FINE PAIR OF 12-BORE SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUNS MAGNIFICENTLY ENGRAVED AND DECORATED BY LOVENBERG, NO. 11303/4 Both guns magnificently engraved depicting the Greek and Roman goddesses of hunting: gun no. 1, the locks depicting Artemis hunting pheasants with birds of prey, and hunting duck with a bow; gun no. 2, the locks depicting Diane hunting hares with dogs, and hunting partridges with a sling; both action bases depicting each goddess sitting amongst classical buildings, one ruined, manual safeties, blued articulated front-triggers, the trigger plates engraved with "Créé et réalisé par Alain Lovenberg", highly figured exhibition grade stocks, the chopper-lump barrels with matt raised ribs gold-inlaid with "Hommage a Artemis" on the no. 1 gun and "Hommage a Diane" on the no. 2 gun, the breech-ends engraved with a panel of symmetrical foliage above a border of Greek key patterning all against a gilt stippled ground.
