Beschreibung:

AN EXQUISITE PAIR OF BRIOLETTE DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS Each pendant set with a briolette diamond, suspended from a circular-cut diamond openwork bell-shaped motif, trimmed with briolette diamond drops, joined by two diamond collets to a larger diamond collet, mounted in white gold Total estimated weight of the two large and twelve small briolette diamonds by calculation approximately 12.00 and 7.00 cts. These elegant yet understated ear pendants are beautifully conceived, incorporating a very rare cut of diamond, the briolette. The shape of the pendants is derived from an Indian jewelry adornment, the jhumka, a bell-shaped drop suspended from either the karanphool, an ear pendant in the form of a rosette, or the phala, an ornament worn on either side of the head. Perforations are made along the edge through which wires with small bells or ghungrus are attached. The illustrated ear pendants are an adaptation of the Indian jhumka with circular-cut diamonds in an openwork motif making up the main body, and briolette diamonds, the bells.
