An extremely fine exhibition standard 5in. gauge model of the Great Western Railway Castle Class 4-6-0 locomotive and tender No 4073 'Caerphilly Castle' built by J.F. Adams with brazed superheated copper boiler with scale fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, injector, whistle, steam brake, clack and blowdown valves and dummy scale vacuum gauge, and multiple sight glass lubricator, the regulator with displacement lubricator linkage. Chassis details include twin inside and twin outside cylinders with valves controlled through inside Stephenson's link gear and rocking levers, steam operated cylinder drains, cylinder head pressure relief valves, finely fluted connecting rods, mechanical lubricator, steam operated brake gear, dummy sanding gear, injector, whistle, fine pipework, riveting, dummy whistles, firebox and boiler washout plugs, opening cab windows, oil boxes and pipes, driver's and fireman's seats and much other fine detailing. Tender details include hand operated pick-up scoop, fine rivet detail, firing iron rack, tool boxes, hand feed pump, tank, lifting eyes, steps, hand and lamp irons, finished in finely lined GWR livery and lining -- 14 x 72in.
