An extremely rare Imperial presentation porcelain cup and saucer with the Imperial eagle by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Paul I, 1798 Of cylindrical, slightly tapering form, on low gilt foot, the body painted with the Imperial eagle with a double coat of arms on its breast, the handle semi-circular, gilt rim, and with similarly decorated circular saucer, marked under base of cup with dark blue underglaze 'P', with overglaze gilt ciselé, the saucer with overglaze ciselé 'P' Cup 2 5/8 in. (6.6 cm.) high, saucer 5 1/8 in. (13.1 cm.) diameter
