AN HISPANO-MORESQUE COPPER LUSTRE ECUELLE ARAGONESE (MUEL), LATE 16TH/EARLY 17TH CENTURY The deep bowl lustred with a bird against panels of stylized leaves, the triangular side handles each lustred with a similar stylized motif (one handle pierced, glaze chips, edges worn)-- 7¾ in. (19.3 cm.) wide ; together with a similar copper-lustre bowl decorated with a ship against an arabesque ground, the underside with a spiral enclosed within concentric bands (broken in four pieces and repaired)-- 8¼ in. (21 cm.) diam. and a later copper and blue lustre bowl from Valencia, the basin moulded with a fleur-de-lys within a five-pointed star, the arch between star points filled with a panel on concentric oval circle, the rim similarly decorated, the underside with random spirals (lustre worn)-- 8 in.
