Title: An Historical Essay Concerning Witchcraft. With observations upon matters of fact; tending to clear the texts of the sacred Scriptures and confute the vulgar errors about that point. And also two sermons: one in proof of the Christian religion; the other concerning good and evil angels Author: Hutchinson, Francis Place London Publisher: Printed for R. Knaplock, et al. Date: 1720 Description: [28], 336 pp. (8vo) 7¾x4¾, period paneled calf. Second Edition. The present book is credited with contributing to the end of the persecution of witches in England. Walton. Lot Amendments Condition: Some staining and wear to covers, front cover detached, rear joint cracked; front free endpaper partially adhered to the bookplate (from earlier attempt at repair to joint?), half-title partially detached, internally very good. Item number: 183812
