AN IMPORTANT AND VERY RARE MING IMPERIAL DOUCAI STEMCUP CHENGHUA SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1465-1487) The small stemcup delicately potted with deep flaring sides rising to a slightly everted rim, painted in underglaze-blue and primrose-yellow, aubergine and very dark grey enamelled around the exterior with four lotus blooms, the interior plain, supported on a slender knopped hollow stem foot spreading at the base, with the reign mark inscribed in a line on the underside, some of the enamels oxidised to a silvery-brown colour 3 in.
