AN IMPORTANT PAIR OF RUBY AND DIAMOND EARRINGS
AN IMPORTANT PAIR OF RUBY AND DIAMOND EARRINGS Each designed as a flowerhead, set to the centre with an oval-shaped ruby, weighing approximately 5.05 and 5.01 carats, within a pear-shaped diamond surround, mounted in platinum and gold, 2.7 cm Accompanied by premium report no. 84465 dated 9 March 2016 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the rubies are of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating and the colour of these stones may also be called “pigeon’s blood” based on SSEF reference standards ; also accompanied by an appendix stating that the pair of rubies possesses extraordinary characteristics and merits special mention and appreciation. The rubies have been carefully selected to form a highly matching pair in quality and size, combined with a vivid and saturated red colour and a very fine purity. The small inclusions found by microscopic inspection are the hallmarks of rubies from the Burma (Myanmar), well known for its wealth in gems since historic times. Their saturated red colour - is due to a combination of well-balanced trace elements, which are characteristic for the finest rubies from Burma. Assembling a matching pair of natural rubies from Burma of this size and quality is rare and exceptional Twelve reports dated from 4 February 2014 to 16 December 2014 from the GIA Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamonds weighing from 1.71 to 1.13 carat range from D to E colour, internally flawless to VS2 clarity US$1,200,000-2,000,000
