AN IMPORTANT SET OF DIPLOMATIC CORRESPONDENCE FROM AN INDIAN RULER TO KING GEORGE II, KING GEORGE III AND WILLIAM PITT INDIA, 18TH CENTURY Persian manuscript on paper, the first addressing King George II, 34ll. of black shikasteh on gold-flecked ground, within gold scrolling floral rules and gold margins; the second addressing William Pitt 14ll. of black ta'liq on gold-flecked ground, within gold rules and margins decorated with a lattice of cartouches each containing a serrated leaf, accompanied by a fragment of an envelope addressed to William Pitt dated 21 October 1760, with a line of black ta'liq, English text below, seal impression above; the third addressing King George III, 32ll. of black ta'liq on gold-flecked ground and continued into the right margin, within gold floral rules and gold margins Largest, folio 22 ½ x 11 7/8in.
