AN IMPORTANT SET OF FOUR GERMAN PARCEL-GILT SILVER CALENDAR-BEAKERS MARK OF ISRAEL THELOTT, AUGSBURG, 1687-1691 Each slightly tapering and with a gilt rim and foot, the bodies each finely repoussé chased with characters in domestic pursuits within ribbon-tied husk borders, each further engraved with a name of the month and chased with corresponding sign of the zodiac, 'Ianuarius' [January - Aquarius]; 'Februarius' [February - Pisces]; 'Martius' [March - Aries] and 'Aprilis' [April - Taurus], the rim of each later engraved with a crest, one also engraved with initials, marked underneath, each further marked with a later French import mark near the rim 3 7/8 in. (9.6 cm.) high 21 oz. (655 gr.) (4)
