AN IMPORTANT SET OF FOUR GERMAN SILVER ROYAL TABLE-CANDLESTICKS MARK OF BALTHASAR FRIEDRICH BEHRENS HANOVER, CIRCA 1735 Each on a shaped square base with rounded corners, the baluster octagonal stem with foliage knops and terminating in spool-shaped socket, with detachable nozzle, the stem engraved with the English Royal arms within garter motto below the English Royal crown, the nozzles engraved with the initials 'GR II' below the English Royal crown, each marked underneath, the bases each engraved with inventory number 'No. 16'; 'No. 62'; 'No. 63' and 'No. 71', the nozzles each engraved with inventory number 'No. 7'; 'No. 39'; 'No. 40' and 'No. 71' 9 1/8 in. (23 cm.) high 122 oz. (3,802 gr.) The Royal arms and initials are those of King George II of England and Elector of Hanover (r.1727-1760). (4)
