AN IMPRESSIVE THREE-COLOURED FU LU SHOU JADEITE CARVING
AN IMPRESSIVE THREE-COLOURED FU LU SHOU JADEITE CARVING The thick material of good translucency with light lavender ground, light to deep caramel brown and emerald green sections, representing the rebus 'fu lu shou' or 'good fortune, prosperity and longevity', well carved to depict a poetic scene of three immortals playing chess in the pavilion and a young boy hiding behind the pillar with an aged pine tree in the foreground, the back with a pair of cranes flying over the aged pine tree, representing the rebus 'he shou song ling' or 'may your life be as eternal as the pine trees and the cranes', to the carved wooden stand, carving approximately 12.0 x 11.5 cm, stand approximately 9.0 cm wide With certificate no. KJ 15223 dated 27 September 2006 from the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory stating that the carving is natural jadeite and no polymer is detected
