An interesting collection of clothing accessories from Rotherhithe. 18th/19th century. Consisting of 16th century pewter and brass buttons, a 16th century copper alloy thimble, 18th century shoe patterns, a small group of 17th century buttons, a button decorated with the head of Quuen Anne (1702 - 1714), a small group of 17th/18th century wig curlers, a small group of brass pins, two 17th century brass thimbles, a group of 18th century buttons, a button decorated with the head of King George I, a group of late 18th century dandy buttons, a group of 18th century silver and pewter cuff links, a group of bone combs, a group of porcelain buttons from c. 1840, a River Fencibles button, a group of 18th century watch-winders, a group of 19th century pewter buttons inscribed 'Free In Sugar' together with a another group of pewter buttons. (97 items) Provenance: This lot came from The Ronald Goode collection at the Pumphouse Educational Museum in Rotherhithe. The Museum housed a fascinating private collection of artifacts discovered on the Thames foreshore in Rotherhithe along with an interesting collection of Peak Freans biscuit factory items which once existed locally in the area. The later collection also included a magnificent six foot iced replica of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding cake with a letter of thanks from Elizabeth II which was on permanent exhibit at The Pumphouse Museum.
