An interesting collection of Victorian items. This collection illustrates the kind of objects that would typically have been found in a Victorian home. Consisting of a collection of ten door keys, three clock keys, five watch keys, three thimbles, a Victoria & Albert Polytechnic Institution London coin, a Queen of England Empress of India 1837 - 1887 Victoria Jubilee coin together with another Victorian coin, two bear's grease pot lids, the contents of which would have been used as hair lotion, two button hooks, two hat pins, a can opener modeled as a bull with possibly two other heads of can openers, a makers plate struck with the words G.Carr maker Rotherhithe together with a collection of ten buttons. (43 items) Provenance: This lot came from The Ronald Goode collection at the Pumphouse Educational Museum in Rotherhithe. The Museum housed a fascinating private collection of artifacts discovered on the Thames foreshore in Rotherhithe along with an interesting collection of Peak Freans biscuit factory items which once existed locally in the area. The later collection also included a magnificent six foot iced replica of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding cake with a letter of thanks from Elizabeth II which was on permanent exhibit at The Pumphouse Museum.
