AN ITALIAN GILTWOOD MIRROR AND CONSOLE CIRCA 1820 The mirror with rectangular plate in a stiff leaf and egg-and-dart border above a panelled tablet carved with a mask and eagles on fruiting laurel garlands, the panelled pilaster uprights headed by classically-draped figures and carved with birds, dogs and monkeys amongst scrolling vine, the console table with rectangular lumacella marble top above a panelled frieze carved with laurel leaves and centered by a mask, on turned tapering-fluted and part-reeded legs headed by Egyptian-masked capitals and terminating in stiff leaf carved feet, with remnants of paper label The mirror: 63½ in. x 50¾ in. (161 cm. x 129 cm.); The console: 39¾ in. (101 cm.) high; 50½ in. (128.5 cm.) wide; 23½ in. (60 cm.) deep
