An ivory okimono of Minamoto Yorimasa slaying the Nue, the warrior wearing full armour plunging his sword into the curious animal with monkey's head, the back of a badger, the claws of a tiger and a tail like a snake with the head at the tip -- 3½in. (8.9cm) high, (small chip); an ivory okimono of three rakan seated in a oval cloud scroll base, each with their various attributes, accompanied by a karashishi and a dragon -- 2¼in. (5.7cm) wide; and another ivory okimono of eighteen rakan each with various attributes and wearing long robes, grouped together on a shaped oval base, the underside carved with a scene of huts beneath pine and coud scrolls -- 2¼in. (5.7cm) wide, signed on a red lacquer tablet , (minor age cracks). See Colour Plate 1 (3)
