AN OBE GROUP TO LT COL C H W EDMONDS RE/STAFF An OBE (1919) 1914/15 Star named to Lt C H W Edmonds RE. British War & Victory Medals named to Capt C H W Edmonds. Defence & War Medals. Courtenay Harold Wish Edmonds was born in Devon in 1879, he married Miss Austin in Exeter in 1914. He died aged 73 years in Surrey in June 1953. Three times Mentioned in Despatches, 1/1/16 then 4/1/17 then 20/12/1918. The latter was awarded whilst serving in Commands & Staff. In 1914 he was serving as a T/Lieutenant with Seniority dating from 2/10/14 with the 110th Railway Company Royal Engineers. He was awarded a 1914/15 Star for Service in France & Flanders, also British War & Victory Medals, the latter with an MID emblem. He rejoined as a Lieutenant in 1939 and finished as a T/Major acting Lt/Colonel in 1944, a Member of M I E E. Awarded the OBE on the 1/1/1919. For his service in WW11 the War & Defence Medals were issued unnamed. With a matching miniature group of six mounted for wear.. His address for his medals in 1920 was 146 Gloucester Terrace, Hyde Park, London. W2. A Senior Engineer who specialised in Transport/Signalling and Aerodromes.
