An Officer's State Dress Uniform of the 2nd Life Guards An extensive group of uniform, as follows: a Troop Officer's fine Full Dress tunic with tailor's label of HAMBURGER ROGERS & Co , named to Hon WHC Beaumont 29/1/13 , complete with plaited gold aiguillette and shoulder-cords bearing Captain's massive rank stars in silver embroidery; a superb silver-plated cuirass with brass binding and red leather lining edged with blue velvet, complete with gilt scales and gold laced waist-strap; a gold-laced shoulder-belt with gilt fittings and blue flask-cord, together with companion pouch of black patent leather, bearing a large and magnificent badge in gilt and enamel; a set of gold-laced sword-slings; a distinctive gold-and-crimson striped sword-knot of 2nd Life Guards pattern; a pair of white leather gauntlets, complete with their trees; a sepia portrait photograph 11in.x 7½in. of the original owner wearing the uniform; and a fine black crepe mourning arm-band, all in a black tin trunk, the aiguillette and pouchbelt also with their velvet-lined metal box.
