An unusual brass and wood 2½in. guage display model of the De Witt Clinton 0-4-0 locomotive and three passenger cars, the First Steam Train in New York State, the engine with twin inclined rearward facing cylinders, wooden chassis with brass riveted boiler, hand feed pump and controls; the 'tender' with water barrels and logs, guard's seat, the roof supported on twelve columns, brass and wood chassis; the three passenger cars built out of horse drawn stage coach bodies mounted by straps on brass and wood chassis with four wheels with rudimentary brakes, the doors lettered M & H R R Co. , the whole mounted on a display plinth with concealed electric motor and drive mechanism -- 10 x 37in.
