An unusual carved and ebonized Writing Table , possibly designed by E.W. Godwin , rectangular top with (later) leather inset panel, central drawer with orientally inspired silvered metal swing handles with shaped pierced backplates, flanked on either side with slender rectangular panel carved with formalized laurel leaves and berries, the left hand side with single rear cupboard with single door, with single ring handles, the right hand side with three drawers, each with pierced swing handles, the open sides each inset with carved floral panel, the inner face incised and gilt with simple linear pattern, the whole detailed with incised gilding, 1870s 74.5cm. high, 111.5cm. wide, 54.5cm. deep
