AN UNUSUAL CASED SET OF FOUR FLINTLOCK PISTOLS, comprising a pair of silver-mounted turn-off pistols and a pair of box-lock pocket pistols, the turn-off pistols each with cannon barrel, border engraved action retaining traces of signature below the steel-spring, figured walnut butt carved with a shell in relief behind the barrel tang, separate trigger-guard with foliate finial (one bent), foliate silver escutcheon, dragonesque silver side-plate, and silver grotesque mask cap, the pocket pistols each with turn-off barrel, signed action, folding trigger, thumb-piece safety-catch, and flat-sided figured walnut butt: in lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories and W. Parker trade label, the turn-off pistols by John Harman, London, circa 1730, the pocket pistols by J. & W. Richards, London, circa 1800-10 12¼in. and 7in.
